Numbing Cream for Cosmetic Tattooing

In Queensland, it’s a legal requirement for clients to supply their own numbing cream prior to any cosmetic tattoo procedure. This ensures both safety and compliance with health regulations.

We recommend sourcing your numbing cream from either Artisan Chemist or Holly the Compounder. Both offer pre- and during-treatment numbing creams that are specially formulated for cosmetic tattooing.

How the Numbing Process Works

• Pre-Numbing Cream
  This is applied before your appointment and only needs to sit on the skin for around 10 minutes. It’s effective, quick, and won’t interfere with the tattoo design. After application, it can be gently dabbed off without affecting the pre-draw.

• Secondary Numbing Cream
  Used after the first pass, this cream keeps you comfortable during the rest of the session. Only a small amount is needed, and it can be reapplied as necessary between passes.

Artisan Chemist, located in Warana, is a convenient option for local clients to collect their creams in person, saving time and postage. Alternatively, you can opt to have the numbing cream express posted to your home.
